The Real Rob Carson
Host of The Philly Sound on WWDB 860 AM
About the host
A voice built for the dial.
The Real Rob Carson has spent decades behind the microphone, bringing energy, knowledge, and genuine love for the music to every broadcast. His style is rooted in the golden era of AM radio — conversational, informed, and always ready with the story behind the record.
On The Philly Sound, Rob draws on a deep catalog of oldies, soul, doo-wop, garage rock, beach music, and Philadelphia soul to build shows that feel like a Saturday drive with the windows down and the dial locked in.
Broadcasting on WWDB 860 AM, Rob brings the spirit of classic radio to a new generation of listeners — and keeps the faithful coming back every week.
